Default Blue Stone Circle Band

Wednesday night at Spanish Springs there will be a band that has only played one other time in The Villages . . .it's called
The Blue Stone Circle, they are out or Orlando and if you're
looking for 80's, 90's with a lot of variety this could be it.
We are very fortunate to have the entertainment we have here on the squares and this group will be a great addition. . .

Went to see this band last night for thier second set. They were very good musicians and they all could sing. However they played a lot of "dance" music. The people there seemed to enjoy this very much, especially the line dancers. :-) I tend to lean more toward Rock & Blues type music so this band would not be my favorite. I would not discourage anyone from going to see them play. I would go see them again if they are at Spanish Springs and there was no good basketball, football, baseball games on TV. A good band. I hope they come back to play the other squares and become part of the "rotation"! Just not my cup of tea.

Now for my rant. If you are going to the square to socialize, talk about your golf game, your favorite whiskey, etc. Select seats in the back of the seating area. Not the 4th row from the band/dance area. Some people like to listen to the music not your blow-by-blow description of your round of golf. Enjoy the squares, but please remember there are other people there as well.

Thank you for your "rant" about those who will NOT SHUT (the you-know-what) UP so others can enjoy the music.........

These rude and/or clueless people like to park their behinds and run their loud mouths everywhere, not just at the squares........

I recently attended a wedding where a gang of them blabbed loud and clear all through the lovely, special music that preceded the ceremony.......

I have enough manners to have at least realized that it would not be appropriate for me to stand up, throw a hymnal at them, and yell, "SHUT UP! YOU #**%^&@s!"

It seems like there are more and more people everywhere who seem to think they are stars in some stupid show all about them.

We both know your "rant" and mine will do no good, but I just wanted you to know that I agree with you.

Also.....the fact that people sometimes form a circle with there chairs and put there backs to the musicians.....in the center of the seating area.... and yack...yack...yack....while the band is singing....

I think that is just RUDE...

I am not condoning the behavior but the flip side is the square entertainment is more a social event than concert. Being a half a-- musician myself unless you are playing some specific concert type atmosphere or name that tune, etc. the crowd socializes. It's rude if the level of their socialization makes it hard for me to hear myself play. The other issue in the squares is the same bands keep rotating and the regular crowd knows what they are going to hear and complacency sets in. If it's a first time band I would expect the regulars to be a little more courteous. The band has a lot to do with commanding respect also. If they do some skit type work or even walking in the crowd as well as playing it becomes more like theater. If you have a band yelling makes some noise and wearing dark sunglasses so they don't have to look you in the eye well they probably won't get the concert treatment. Point is the band can help themselves some. As far as the crowd being bothered by others that's a tough one. Again it's not a concert and you did not have a ticket. But some people are very me centric. Just have fun.

Excellent band that only got better as the night went on. Very good musicians, song mix and audience engaging. Look forward to seeing them again.
