We have a Marathon Courtyard Villa (1160 sq.ft.) built in 2006 of frame and siding construction. As "snowbirds" we are not there in the summer. We just received the Seco bill for 5/10 to 6/11 for $111.52. We set the AC @ 82 degrees, have the water heater on pilot and all lights and fans are off. Last year our bills were excessive and we had a Seco rep check or unit and every thing was fine EXCEPT Seco had our meter and another in the area mixed up. They gave us a refund for the excess charges in the prior year but now the bill again seems excessive. Does this seem excessive to you -- either snowbirds or full timers?
Thanks for your effort if you reply! |

Lieq, We have an Amelia villa, approximately the same size as yours. Our SECO bills are about $80-90 in the summer, and $20-$30 in the winter. We keep the temp set at 80 degrees in our absence. If you're AC is not working properly and ours was not, (check other posting on Air Conditioning problems) the unit will run constantly because it will never achieve the set temperature. This would give you a higher than average SECO bill. There is a known problem with the coils in the Trane air conditioners which have proved faulty. It's worth looking into.
