Default Someone stole my Scotty Cameron Putter

While my golf cart was parked at Hacienda Hills Country Club, someone lifted my Scotty Cameron Putter out of my golf bag. From what I understand, I am not the first or the last that this has happened to. Does anybody out there know of any similar stories?

It's unfortunate but have heard of several instances of club theft and accessories theft (radios and sand bottles) at Hacienda Hills and at LSL. I guess it's best during "high season" to leave these items at home. Personally I take my cart to the squares but leave all loose items at home. We're a big population center and that attracts the "low lifes". More than likely non-residents that cruise the streets and parking lots of golf courses looking for an easy score. Sad but true, we are an easy mark especially during the winter madness.

I'm sorry to hear you got robbed. Our uncle mentioned a story a few years ago, about a guy they caught trying to lift a driver out of someone's bag. I believe it was a resident, however it would not be a suprise that there are non-residents crusing the area looking for things to take. We used to belong to a semi-private golf club up north, where you never had to worry about that type of thing. If you left a golf club out on the course, someone would always turn it in. When they went public, things really went downhill. If you left a wedge out on a green you might as well kiss it goodbye. This is obviously a very public area, and that type of thing is almost bound to happen. My husband has an expensive Callaway driver. I've been urging him to put a cheap looking headcover on it, to thwart possible theives! I hope your putter is replaceable.

I doubt that many non-residents are cruising the country clubs

Not that I am accusing the non-residents but, the Country Clubs are open to the Public as are their restaurants.

Check with the Pro Shop. I know we used to tag found clubs for 30 days and sell them. Just a thought. Also check with local pawn shops. Have seen sets of clubs turn up there too.

Love to catch em doing this. Give a whole new meaning to hook or slice.
