Default Savannah Center last night....Neil Diamond

So very disappointed. Brought out of town guests to a show that was the worst I have seen in my 6 years here. Singing was atrocious, choreography was non existent and back up singers had no rhythm. So out of character for what is normally a good venue with great entertainment.

I was there also. Jamie Klatt is not a Neil impersonator, he just sings Neil songs. We thought the audio was poorly done. Jamie is a very theactrical singer. The backup singers were all Villagers and yes a few didn't have great moves. The women who sang solos were good, it was the audio that was messed up. I happen to like his style. He really puts his whole self into his performance, no it wasn't on the level of some things that are at Savannah but it wasn't the worst thing either. Anyway, Sweet Caroline always makes up for the rest!

We enjoyed it but then we didn't have high expectations since we knew the performers were local and always are amazed at the talent that lives here.. We knew the music and that just hearing the tunes is always enjoyable. It was a $20.00 ticket, what could you have possibly expected?

I've seen a lot of good tribute bands at Savannah Center, Tony Roi as Elvis, Stayinalive as the Beegees and the Nowhere Band as the Beatles, to name a few. However, I usually look up reviews and watch videos on Youtube before the first time so I don't get burned. I saw there was two Neil Diamond tributes coming up, the first was Jamie Klatt that just appeared. His video is just like the earlier poster wrote, he does Neil's songs but is not really an impersonator. On Youtube I saw this video and was not impressed, click on the link: https://youtu.be/IlDWP9TFXgM

Then on November 10th is Diamond Rocks featuring Donn Lamkin. When I saw their video, I knew this was the one to see. It's ashame now that some people might stay away from the Donn Lamkin show after this other show. Click on this link to see for yourself: https://youtu.be/0ZRi9J5fp8Y

We saw the Lettermen at the Savannah Center last week and the sound system was poor. Can't we spend a few bucks and get a decent sound system? It sounded like the "blown" speakers I had in my car when I was a teenager. There has been LOTS of improvement in sound technology since then!
