I think it's one of those new designer verbs. Wikipedia:

burgle

verb
verb: burgle; 3rd person present: burgles; past tense: burgled; past participle: burgled; gerund or present participle: burgling

1.
another term for burglarize.
synonyms: rob, burglarize, loot, steal from, plunder, rifle (through), pillage; More
break into
"he confessed to having burgled the senator's office"
