Daggone it. Say it isn't so. Since they detoured golf cart traffic around the new assisted living facility between Lowe's and the parking lot at the lab near the historic side of TV, I stopped driving over in my golf cart. The path is too bumpy and so much longer. I just hope that they really make good on their "promise" to allow us access through the property once the assisted living is completed.

Unlike Rubicon who takes every opportunity to dis residents in adjoining communities for accessing public restaurants, stores, and medical buildings that he thinks belong to him and other Villages residents, I feel sorry for the residenst of the historical section of TV. Many of these folks are on limited fixed income. As such, they rely on the discounted pricing for food, clothing and household essentials that Wal-Mart provides. Unfortunately they will now have to travel all the way to 466 for that, or use their car.

And for the record, one can travel nearly the entire length of 441 on both sides in a cart to all of the shops, restaurants and medical buildings without ever needing to be on an amenity maintained path. I’ve mentioned this before on TOTV but some people insist on ignoring this fact.

Are you asking me where the barier fence is being errected or where Stonecrest might install a private gate to get around the barrier for its residents?

:mademyday:I agree wholeheartedly. I don't play golf. I do not own a golf car. I have a smallish car that gets around 32 mpg. It takes me safely and comfortably wherever I want to go. I would never feel safe or comfortable in a golf cart.

In the meantime I think people will start blazing a new trail by cutting through Aldi’s parking lot and onto the grass skirt that borders 441 until another barrier is put up.

I agree 110%. I hate it when I'm forced to use my car.

The problem for the people at Stonecrest is that they can no longer get to Aldi or Lowes. I wonder how this will impact the business of Wal-Mart, Aldi, Lowes and the medical buildings between Paradise and Lowes.

Prior to buying a home down south we had made multiple visits to TV to visit my wife's parents and I have yet to be "stuck in traffic". I've never had any trouble getting around in my F-150. If I go shopping I want to be able to put my bags inside my vehicle where they have a chance of staying safe, and in the case of cold and/or frozen things, I'd like them to stay that way. If I'm travelling around and it's raining I'm not interested in getting soaked or riding around zipped-up in something that looks like a pup-tent with wheels. I just cannot find any possible use for a golf cart if you don't play golf except for one thing. It's easier to take one to the pool so you don't have to wrap your car seats in towels to keep them from getting wet.

Now my in-laws have one that's tricked out to look like a '32 Ford and they love it and have a great time in it. It makes them happy. That's cool. I just can't see it personally.

Now as far as being "stuck in traffic" come sit with me some afternoon on the Baltimore Beltway about 445pm and then we can talk about "stuck in traffic".

There's a gate at 1159 Paradise Ave that goes to the parking lot of a medical complex. If you follow that parking lot you come to a big parcel of open land, that is currently being developed and through which runs a dirt cart path that goes to Lowes parking lot. If you take the road between 441/27 and Lowes parking lot you'll pass several banks, a little strip mall and a car wash. That ends up at another medical complex and ends at Aldi's parking lot. There is an exit at the back of the Aldi parking lot that goes to another dirt trail that ends at Wal Mart. From there, you can go on to another little strip mall where there is a Dollar Tree.
The little dirt trail between Aldi and Wal Mart is what we are discussing.
