I too would pay full price to see classic films on the big screen - I remember back in the 80s and 90s, several theatres in San Francisco would show classic films (double features), where the movies would change daily - often times there would be a theme for the week like “Hitchcock week” or “Bette Davis week” - I’m a big film fan, and would attend most days if we had something like that here - streaming is OK, but nothing compares to the big screen.

You guys are dreaming if you think the developer is going to invest in reopening Barnstorm as a theater until they are ensured it will be profitable. The developer knows EXACTLY how many attend LSL and how much they spend. LSL is probably only profitable because of the Taco place and comedy place in the lobby. As far as Katie Belles. It was a loser then and a loser now. If you have a great idea then approach the developer with your business plan and capital. But as usual most people are willing to spend others money but not theirs.

The developer sells RE, that is their business. All this other stuff is here to sell RE. If it doesn’t sell RE and isn’t profitable it will close (Katie Belles, Hacienda, any business or restaurant). How many people come here and look at houses and say “My God, there is only one movie theater, I can’t live here!”. Keep on complaining but you are wasting your breath.

They sold the Villages as having three theaters from when the Barnstorm Theater opened. It was a draw for some people. Especially for those who do not golf.

Semiautomatic, max calibre = 9 mm.

I would like to see an indoor, 3 story lazy river that circles around and through a rainforest with monkeys, lizards and butterflies. Among the tree limbs and vines, nymphs wander, bringing you intoxicating tropical cocktails. At rivers end, lovely mermaids and handsome mermen (if my lady prefers) carry you to the swim up bar for a final drink and massage before carrying you home in our Rolls-Royce rolling hot tub. All one of the free amenities that comes with being a Villages resident, living the lifestyle.

We enjoyed it, but obviously we and a few thousand other people did not enjoy it enough to be profitable.

Sounds like heaven but nothing like real life.

Are all commercial real estate in the Villages owned by the developer? Is it possible for a private investor to purchase commercial space?

Giant indoor entertainment complex. Something like a Dave & Busters kind of place. Maybe throw in a large indoor go cart track too. Indoor shuffleboard courts a very popular up north. Also add a a dozen lanes of bowling.

Resurrect Katie Belle's dinner theatre. Live shows and great food would be attractive down here in Brownwood. Room for second story balcony bar also.

Sure, why not start another business just like the one that failed...

The two dinner theaters near me in MD closed years ago... Seems no one is interested in that sort of entertainment anymore....

NO THANK YOU!

Agree completely, just would be taking rent & grocery money away from people who can ill afford it.

It doesn't matter what anyone wants. The business that pays the most for the location will get it.
