Looks like they are starting to move dirt in that area where Buena Vista meets CR44A.

GMoney: Do you see any indication that the construction effort south of 466A is slowing or that timelines are being extended due to slowing demand?

All indications here are that demand is picking up. Word on the street is the sales centers are very busy, many folks on the "come and see me" visits and more consturction activity is evident.

Construction is picking up, but mainly in District 8. That is St. Charles and that area. The new Premier Unit is building up real good. That would be off of Pennecamp once you go down St. Charles. Then turn on Lake Ridge. That area is picking up. Grading alot of the open areas now for the rest of St. Charles to join back in on Buena Vista.
Not a whole lot of Nothing on the South of 466A. Alittle by 44 and 44a. Most of the pick up is North of 466a. Soon as I hear somehting on the south side iI will let it loose..

I have absolutely no inside info at all, but it appears that a lot of work is taking place in the immediate Brownwood area. Nothing much is happening in the housing and golf area between 466A and 44A. Keep in mind about Brownwood, however, that a lot more than just the 3rd town center is going up there. It will also include a medical complex (Hospital?) and other stuff. Maybe G can identify which is which, but I certainly can't tell yet.

Re the newly developing area out St Charles Pl past Bailey Trail, I'd encourage all to take a Sunday drive though the open areas. It's huge. And if one were to dare drive past the "Stop", "Private Property" "Do Not Enter" "Construction Only" "Violators Will Be Shot" signs on St. Charles (by cart -- don't even think of a car), it's even HUGER. There's gonna be a lot of homes built back there.

I have been trying to get some info on Brownwood, Things change so fast and often.. Just like the Dow, from second to second.. There is still alot of road work to be done for the tie in of Buena Vista to 44a and 44. No home plans yet for South of 466a. I have a Sumter County Master Plan map and there is alot to go in. Alot of things looking at the map. Just slow developing. Not sure of the Medical Complex there. They are building Promise Hospital off Rainey Trail. ??????????? I will dig some more and see what is up.

If you do make it back to Area 51 past the road closed signs. Just beware of the Construction Vehicles. And anytime you enter a construction zone, always remember the construction vehicles have the right of way. It is marked like that for a reason. Sunday's not much in the way of big vehicles driving out there. Just be careful.

Please describe area 51.

Also I heard on The Villages radio station an interview with the head of golf operations (don't remember his name) that they have started construction of the next Championship Course South of 466A. Would like to know any info in this. He also said that all of the golf courses South of 466A have been on paper for some time now. Also the construction of the 5 executive courses in the St Charles area are well into construction with the first ones to open this Fall. They are needed as currently executive courses are well booked up. Perhaps with Daylight Savings time change on March 8th that will add some more playing time and loosen up things a little. Daylight Savings and as the snowbirds start heading North in early April the courses will open up more. I still am able to play all the golf I want! LIFE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

I see that they have completly blocked any access on Buena Vista South of 466A. You can't even get a golf cart past it. Cars used to go around the partial blocking but not to be done anymore.

I have had a Sumter County Master Plan for awhile showing all on that south side. I am hearing they might start Morse to 44 in a few months. The Fire Dept does training down off that new part of Buena Vista also. It is stirctly forbidden for regular traffic in those areas. Mainly for safety off all involved.
Area 51 would be the new area off St. Charles all the way around to Buena Vista. They have put up signs and all warning traffic. But some still like to use St. Charles to get to that construction access road to CR-462. That is not wise to do that. Alot of large trucks and equipemnt in that area that are not looking for tourist to enter there. That is why they put up the signs and all. And back off of St. Charles there is alot of grading and all going on.

I got stopped there Saturday by SCSO on the new part of BV south of 466a on my bike. asked to keep out of that area.

As I said earlier, or tried to say, there is a lot of the new development area open to the public. All who are concerned/fearful about TV approaching build-out should visit. Just go out St Charles Pl past Bailey Trail. Once thru the Jacaranda none of Cane Gardens you come to a right turn. St Charles is closed past this point. Take the right and weave thru the new village(s). Especially note the new Premier Homes area (likely Bridgeport Behind Lake Miona or something like it) identifiable by the double street lights. Even without trespassing, it's a worthwhile trip.
