I took the time to read through this piece. My only comment is why would anyone try to stop them filming. The film is probably an excellent advertisement for TV. However, having said that, it is I believe an Australian effort and how many Aussies are likely to make it to TV?

The article was even featured in the Drudge Report "news rag".
As I submitted via their contact access....total and complete biased, prejudiced, fake news BS!
A representation of some of the one or two percent here that dislike everything about TV and the developer.

The other 98% of us are enjoying what we bought here......18 years ago.....and would do so again.

Not many, but a few weeks ago
I met an Aussie at the pool that
was looking for a home here!
And have a few friends here, that are expats from the UK
and Canadian neighbors, so it’s not all bad!

Let's see - from the movie trailer - commentary from Lauren Ritchie, Orlando Sentinal "reporter" who built a career writing negative opinion pieces about The Villages, and some lady outside the bubble who probably wishes she took the developer's offer when building came by. Plenty of those holdouts who are not too happy now.

Geez, where do I find that "verdant, lush" grass? Mine is all brown.

Say what? We hear ambulances all day. When you do you know there is probably going to be another home available for sale.

it reminds me of when my golf buddies are bitching at me and my partners after a round. That means we won.
Likewise, the more criticism of our lifestyle here in TV, the more they have to be jealous about.

John Prine wrote a song called "Hello In There", about old people sitting around just doing nothing, waiting to die. I guess that's what these documentarists think we should be doing. Nope. No thank you.

Isn't Ms Blankenbyl Austrian? I believe her film is premiering in Australia.

It was released in the US last November. The distributors are getting a little desperate.

Maybe they are trying to get housing prices reduced so they can buy in.
