As moderator, it saddens me to see the a conversation deteriorate like this one did. Believe me, I fully understand how it happens, because I am given to having strong opinions myself. I think you will all agree that it serves no further purpose to continue the disagreement. I had a hard time deciding if I should delete the whole thread or lock it, so I decided to lock it. I will ask that it not be continued in another thread though.

but, but, but ... getting along ain't no fun! Don't know about you, but I always fought with my brother and I absolutely, positively adored him. If my cousins and my brother weren't in a fist fight once a week something was seriously wrong with one of them. We're a family in so many ways. Families fight. I'm willing to bet that if one of those fighting needed help, the others would jump in and help as much as they could.

You are right. At least about me. I feel that we are family and I feel so good about TV.
Because we are up here right now, it is the only way to "be" down there and sometimes we all get a little too intense on TOTV. I think it is because we all have lived long enough and have earned a right to our sometimes very strong opinions. I often have my mind changed when reading other peoples posts. We have a lot of information, experience and knowledge to share.

Hey, we get older and tend to get rather opinionated about subjects. I agree with Red, though. Let something happen to any one of us and the others would be there to help.

I agree with all the previous posters.......we need to have a debate and challenge each others opinions but when it turns to name calling and rudeness..... not acceptable, the humor leached out and it became down right personal.
Fact is we are a family of sorts and I have every confidence we will be there for each other should the need arise.

Dont be ashamed. You are a sweet loving soul, and you are funny and clever. You said nothing wrong, believe me I have reproached myself many times for things I posted but that is nothing to worry about in comparrison to some. I bet they arent ashamed! LOL

Why should this subject with such differing opinions be any different from any other? It's really up to us as individuals to practice common courtesy and PRINCIPLES BEFORE PERSONALITIES! Some will, and there are always some who refuse to. No one can change anyone else; just accept that that's the way it is, look for it from where it comes, and move on. We're all different....

I would like to add my 2 cents..This is a forum where we all got along famously, some times we all got along too well, if there is such a thing..

This has been a small bump in the road and our friendship will get us over it!

Our hopes and dreams of moving to TV, all started with the friendships we made here, lasting friendships that will endure any little problems that arise..

There is no perfect world, but our TOTV world was pretty close to it..We cannot undo what is done, buy we can certainly try to forget to hurt feelings and move on..

Jesus forgave and so can we..

Not sure what caused the lockdown - must have missed the "straw that broke..." post.

Most of the folk willing to take the time to express their feelings tend to do so with passion, sometimes a little diplomacy, sometimes darned little diplomacy, and sometimes that wonderful trait - hindsight - sets in.

We all do get along - sometimes with a little "tough love" - but nothing really occurs which should bring folks to fisticuffs.

In my line of work, we go at each other hammer-and-tong, and it does get heated and rough sometimes, then afterwards only to toast each other and the profession. That's why "happy hour" exists and $1.75 Margaritas are available.

There are folk on this board with a fair amount of mileage, and can handle the situation whenever a pothole appears on the highway.

Or as the buffalo would have put it - just let the chips fall.....
