How long does it take mail from Canada to reach TV? I have been expecting a package from the Vancouver, BC area which according to the sender was mailed on Tuesday May 27, 2008??

Figure two days to get out of Canada; two days (or more) to clear American customs; one to two days to get here. A lot will depend on how well she has marked the customs label.

I've found it can take longer to a package to Canada than from. I've also mailed packages on the same day, one to a small town near Niagara Falls, Canada, and one to Denmark, Copenhagen -- the Danish package arrived 7 days earlier than the Canadian one!

In the past six months I have purchased two computers from Apple. In both instances the time from when I placed my order until delivery to my house here in TV was 5-1/2 days.

That doesn't sound so extraordinary until one understands that my order was placed with the Apple Store Online, transferred to a factory in Shanghai, China where my order was entered and the computer(s) manufactured, then placed on a FedEx plane bound for Anchorage, Alaska. The packages cleared U.S. Customs in Anchorage, then were shipped to Orlando, placed on a truck and delivered to my house. All that in 5-1/2 days!

I guess when I hear that personal packages can take 4-5 days to make it from British Columbia to here, I'm more than surprised.

On our ebay sales to Canada, the packages are delivered surprisingly quickly--and often at about the same cost as shipping within the U.S. Go figure! I couldn't say exactly how many days, though....

Tal, we're still using mule trains for mail delivery here in Canada. So add in some extra time for that.
