Default Belvedere Golf Cart Gate

I have lost count of the number of times this gate has been broken. For the life of me I simply fail to understand how this can happen. There is no need for a gate pass and one only needs to press a button to open the arm. Anyone have any ideas? The only reason I see is impatient drivers who tailgate and don't have the time to wait 5 secs. To start with I thought this unnecessary, but with the increased volume of traffic it does act as a safety measure to allow carts to stop and assess the auto traffic and likewise for car drivers.

Yet another reason to have easily read cart ID's. The person responsible needs to pay for the damage--especially if it turned out to be repeat drivers

I'll see you one Belvedere Gate and raise one Liberty Park Gate..The spate of gate break is at an amazing rate! I think you got it right...impatient irresponsibility! Make them pay for a broken gate and then slap a heavy fine on top of it.

I live near this gate, and I couldn't agree more. I am scratching my head at the sheer number of times this gate is broken off and laying by the side of the road, sometimes more than once in a day. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE that cannot navigate a simple up and down gate, and when they break it, just drive off? Amazing.

I guess it's because of the frequency people don't stop at stop signs. At least the vast majority stop for the gates.

I think that the gate was put in so that the people in carts don't get run over by cars turning into the villa village on the right just past the gate. It is more a safety feature than a security feature.

Better a broken gate than a smashed golf cart.

I have seen several gates malfunction. I had one come down on my suv when I was half way through the gate.

I have had that almost happen a few times too that the gate comes down on the car. I have had to slam on my brakes a few times so I did not break the gate and hope that the person behind me pushes the button and does not rear end me.

This has been at different gates.

I like the stops there though as it slows down the traffic flow and serves as a safety feature.

Am I correct in thinking that this is the only dedicated golf cart gate in TV?
