Check out "Cinch World's Toughest Rodeo", which is a touring rodeo that plays in various places and venues around the country. I've watched them regularly when I lived up there. Their 2025 calendar will be coming out soon. They're the real deal; nationally-known cowboys, as well as some locals trying to knock off the big dogs. The cowboys take part in three events: bareback riding and saddle bronc riding (horses) as well as what is seen as the main event: bull riding. There is also barrel racing: women racing horses around a course marked by barrels, which they have to complete successfully and head back to the starting gate. It is timed: the one with the shortest time (and least barrels knocked over) wins. There is also a lot of comedy; the usual well-over-the-top clowns, as well as a "mutton-busting" event, where kids, some as young as four, get on the back of a sheep and hold on for dear life as the sheep runs madly across the arena to join the rest of the flock at the other end. Various acts (rope twirling, lassoing, etc.) are provided between main events. They used to have an act, "Whiplash, the Cowboy Monkey" that was a regular feature but I think the animal-rights people got their undies in a bundle over it so it wasn't part of the program the last two times I went.
It is a fun time.
They play regularly in St. Paul, MN once a year, two performances on successive days in late January. Up there they use the Xcel Energy Center Arena which is where the Minnesota Wild play their hockey games. I don't know where and when they play other dates but it is worth a look.
