Just finished installing knobs on my new cabinets took about an hour. If you do it yourself use a prick punch to prevent drill wandering and a good sharp drill. My cabinets are hickory and I was very surprised to find how hard the wood was. The old cabinets did not have handles and as others have commented you get wear spots on the corners plus I think the knobs dress them up a bit.

When we ordered our courtyard villa we didn't give the knobs much thought and decided to let it ride....However the doors and windows were another matter....... ;D ;D ;D :joke:

I'll not push the issue of your "knobs" Barb
Sorry Barb my service call from NYS would be a tad expensive. I'm sure there are lots of pros around that can accomodate your "knob" installation 1rnfl

We "ordered" our home back in 2001 and we opted for no knobs. We like it.

Hi Barb
Do you have all the hardware ? I can do the job for you after Christmas. I live in Mallory and am an experienced cabinet maker. 315 783-9669. My price would be reasonable.

Haven't had knobs on cabinet doors for over 20 years. Never lost the finish on any of the doors we opened. They are in the villa we live in here. Have to scrub around the handles at least twice a week and, no, we're not dirty, just that the paint on the cabinets ain't that good. I'd love to go back to no handles.!

:hot: Redwitch, do I have an idea for you!!!

Hire Rekops to come in and remove your knobs. He can fill the holes and refinish your woodwork (might cost a few bucks for that one). hen he can take your old/experienced knobs over to Barbs and install them for her.

Looks like a win/win/win deal to me. Gets rid of your knobs which you don't like, gets Barb her desired handles, and gets Rekops some money and keeps him out of the bars (sorry, I mean keeps him busy).

Community cooperation!! :beer2:
