Default Trash pickup for cardboard boxes

I have some cardboard boxes (vacuum cleaner, direct tv, etc) that I want to dispose of. Do they go out with the regular trash, or is there a special day for things like that.

Do they have to be cut to lay flat?

I'm in the village of Mallory Square.

Thanks all you "Villagers".

Our recycle day is Tuesday, I have left a ton of moving boxes out on the curb broken down and they take them.

Yes, you are supposed to flatten the boxes.

You might want to save a few of them. I have started putting my old newspapers in boxes. When the box is full I set it out on recycling day.
Easier than trying to stuff the newspapers in a plastic recycle bag.

You can also take the flattened boxes to recycle bins behind the sheriff's office on 466. That's where we took all of ours. Didn't want to wait for the local pickup.
