Default Mardi Gras in the Villages

Please tell me what date the Villages is observing Mardi Gras. I haven't been able to find it on any of the Villages sites.

Yes, there will be Mardi Gras celebrations at at least two squares that I know of from my dance groups. Lake Sumter Landing is Feb. 7 and I think Feb 12 is at Brownwood. There will be info in the paper as it gets closer, especially check out the monthly activities sheet in the Sunday paper the last Sunday of the month (this weekend).

The real Mardi Gras is of course the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday but I think that it is celebrated on the weekends here. Probably before and after the real one.

But it is definiitly celebrated more than in the north.

Checking with the Entertainment Department Bogie Shooter is correct. The times for the festivities will be 4-9 PM
The Louisiana Club is having their 1st Annual Mardi Gras Ball at Lake Miona Recreation Center on January 31, 2013 starting at 6:00 PM. The Krewe for the Louisiana Club is the Krewe of RA (The Egyptian Sun God). Music Entertainment will be provided by the Porch Dogs. The Entres will be a Cochon De Lait (Roasted Pig and Chicken Jambalaya. Dress for the event with be either a Cocktail attire or Egyptian/Middle East Costume. The cost for the event will be $25.00/person. 200 tickets were sold, but it is already a sold out event. We are hoping that this will be and outstanding event and will be having it again next year.
If anyone is interested in joining the Louisiana Club, we meet at Lake Miona Recreation Center the second Wednesday of the Month at 6:00 PM

Mardi Gras is at all three squares on Tues Feb. 12 according to CERT to which I belong to. They are providing medical coverage at all three squares that day.

Since all the parades have been cancelled permanently now, there's a good chance Mardi Gras isn't around anymore either.

Yes, there is a Mardi Guas celebration. There hasn't been a parade for years. Leesburg has a great parade on Feb. 9.
