Default 4th of July in the Villages!

Are there any special events in or close by The Villages on the 4th of July?

Strangely, The Villages doesn't do much for the 4th of July. I did notice in the paper this morning something about a concert at the Savannah Center. You might want to check out surrounding community web sites for fireworks.

On Top of the World has a fireworks display at the towncenter. Might be a small charge for parking.

It sure would be nice if the developers did fireworks for the 4th - as a thank you to those of us who moved here and helped make this the place this is. Wonder why there aren't fireworks here...

Plenty of things to do outside The Villages. I am at a Marriott in Tampa enjoying a great time with my wife and Villages friends.

Get out sometimes and relax at a hotel for a couple of nights.
-------------

Great fireworks show last night and we saw it from our hotel room balcony! Fireworks, a glass or three of wine, and camaraderie of good friends. What could be better?

Interesting viewpoint! Personally I'm happy to have the privilege of living here and don't feel entitled to a thank you from the Morse family, I'd rather thank them for my quality of life. I can live happily without fireworks.

Fireworks displays can be very expensive. They are nice but I really haven't gone out of my way, to see them, for years.

Works, for me!

I agree with those who think there should be fireworks on the 4th of July THE DAY WE CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE. However, I don't think it is necessarily the Developer's responsibility, however, if the Morse family wanted to provide the Polo Fields that would be okay---after all, you need a big safe place for fireworks.

There are a number of Clubs in the area that could sponsor them along with other activities on July 4th. Maybe someday one of them will "bat up". I know that we were disappointed the first July 4th we spent in TV. We went to Leesburg---nice! Now, we are usually in Illinois---no shortage of fireworks or festivies here.

Probably because most Villagers don't stay out after 9pm.
