There was a man that took his dog (not this lab) to the human exercise machines and trail in the historic area. His dog seemed(?) to be under his control. But, I saw 2 things wrong with the situation. #! only about 1 block away was a dog park. #2 he allowed the dog to run free often - he would throw frisbees for the dog. #3 many people walked or jogged on that trail while he sat on a bench there with the dog when he wasn't throwing the frisbees. Dogs often get excited around running people since they are natural hunters, they react to motion.
.........Also at the same area of the historic side, I watched a lady walk by and it looked like she was being walked by the dog, not the other way around. She had one of those 30ft reels on the dog (which was a smallish mixed black lab). She was obviously NOT the animal in control. The dog jumped on a man walking on the running path in the opposite direction. Not sure if the man was bitten. The woman tried to real the dog in - with difficulty. She seemed upset at the man and did NOT apologize to him. He said something to the effect of "what the HELL are you doing".
. Both of those things happened before the pandemic. So it is like ancient history. But, the point is that there are a lot of TV Landers that own dogs and are strangely reckless. So, I would assume that many dogs do NOT have current shots. So, "caveat canine emptor" in TV Land.

A lot of dog owners take a peculiar pride in their dog's willingness to defend against strangers. I don't think most of them are unaware they have an aggressive animal. It is a strange form of passive-aggressive behavior by the human.

I saw a bumper sticker today by the pickle ball courts that said: "If my dog doesn't like you I probably won't either." In other words, it is your problem if my dog takes a disliking to you and bites you.

If anyone can please provide me with any additional information on these two men it would be appreciated. I am told that if i need medical attention i will need to file a police report and they will want the owners information.

You can private message me through the tov site.

Thank you.
obviously bonnie and clyde aided and abetted the getaway. You pay taxes.
Call 911 and your insurance company whom i'm sure will look into the liability issues of all involved

He was fairly close to the park, an easy cart ride. People are foolish if they think that they can't be found out with virtually any information. I think it took me less than fourteen minutes to locate him.

Absolutely everything that any of you needed to do this was contained in the OP's original post.

I see a new Netflix series on the horizon. "Toymeister, Bounty Hunter." "You can run, but you cannot hide."

The OP finally replied.

Didnt quite say how the bite happened. Did the dog leap up and bite him?

Or was he defending his little fur baby and put his hand between two dogs and got bit.

I call BS on this whole story.

They left becuase the OP got between two mongrels.

His fault.

Where did you get your crystal ball? I do agree there are some facts missing in this story, but I don’t agree with jumping to conclusions.

Completely misses the point. Whine about whose fault it is later. Today, right now, the OP needs to know the vaccination status of the dog. Learning that would be far easier had the owner stuck around to share information. Since the owner did not, they are asking for help finding him.

I hope he continues with his medical care. I spent a week in the hospital and a total of six weeks with a PICC line and antibiotics due to bacteria in a dog’s saliva. Please do not treat dog bites at home, especially with home remedies like vasoline.

My father was the physician for the staff at the Detroit zoo and had plenty of stories of infected animal bites. Animals carry some uncommon bacteria.

I was in Afghanistan, if that's what you mean. I left during the COVID hysteria.

The amenities sucked. Not a damn golf course in sight and no pools at Bagram. They let all sort of people in there, it wasn't a 55+ community. But it was an exclusive gated community.

I like it better here, warts and all

There is a Jack and Janice on Sun Valley in Ashleigh Villas in Calumet Grove. No idea, but worth a try…. Good luck.
By the way - any idea of the dog’s name?

Bottom line is the dog bit this man. It doesn’t matter if he was protecting a little dog, a child or older person, the dog bites and was aggressive. The owner quickly packed up the dog and left, that is WRONG! End of story.
