I am seeking advice and recommendations from fellow Villagers who have enclosed, and or expanded their existing carports. I would like to engage a turnkey contractor to provide ideas and project management to complete a conversion that will provide room for a cart and some additional storage space.
If anyone can make suggestions, please do. If you would like to show w a completed project that would be even better. Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations, good or bad, that will help me in my search. Mike |

Two examples: 1) Punchlist stuff -- One handyman's rate was $75 p/hr (which I used for 3 hours and his work was mediocre). Another guys rate was $25 p/hr -- I used him for 10+ hours. His work was fine and I'll keep using him. Think about that difference. 2) New driveway & small patio pour - One contractor has been doing concrete work (only) here for 30+ yrs and his quote is $7550. The other one is a local residential and commercial construction company. Their quote for the exact same specs was $18,000. I kid you not. So, my recommendation is to take your time to source the right contractor and wait until you find him. |

Also, make sure ALL required building permits are pulled, do NOT take the builders word for it, get copies of the permits, made the mistake many years ago, and it came back to bite me.
