Carpet in Lanai
Want to put Carpet in my Glass Enclosed lanai.
Pro's / Cons IF you have done it? |

Seems people have varying ideas about what constitutes a lanai. If your windows only go half way down (what I would consider a porch) then I have seen carpeting installed with no problem. We have friends who have done this and it is very cozy.

I had it and removed it. Put down tile, much easier to clean and the chairs roll much easier, also.

We have a sliding glass (floor to ceiling) enclosed lanai and opted for tile with accent rugs. We enjoy opening the windows for the breeze occasionally and we will forget to close them before we leave the house. Once in a while that unexpected rainstorm pops up and we have had wet tile which is fine. Much better than wet carpet. Also, we go from the lanai to the birdcage a lot, so it is an easier clean than carpet.
Glad we did the tile over carpet, but it is a personal choice. |

we have the glass sliders and have chosen to go with area rugs.
It is all a matter of choice....no right or wrong. |

No mold or mildew unless you leave the air conditioning off for long periods of time.
