My Xfinity bill is a shocking $296 this month
Regular monthly charges $277.75 Taxes, fees and other charges $18.48 New charges $296.23 Statement total: $29623 That includes ultimate TV (not very ultimate) 1000g speed and home phone If I went to choice + 500mbs and something like YT TV I'd still be in the mid $200 Advice please |

I have exactly the same Xfinity package, with 2 cable boxes. My monthly bill is $246. It sounds like you are not benefitting from a one or two year agreement where you would get a contract discount.

How so?
I'm looking for a solution Hard to believe people pay $2500 to $3500 year for internet and TV |

Probably. I always document the expiration date for the agreement and make an appointment with the Xfinity store to renew the agreement before it expires. If you don't, they won't notify you, but they will automatically eliminate the contract discount, and put you on a month-to-month plan.

1000g speed? Check your speed to see if you are really getting it, If not reduce it nearer to what is actually being provided to save $.

Note that to get a $60 per month internet price, you will need to lower your speed, and purchase your own modem. Xfinity gives you a lower internet price for 12 months and then raises it. Also, if you want to keep the home phone, that is about $30 per month, and the modem you purchase will need to have a phone jack on it, which makes it more expensive than most modems. The $75 per month price for YoutubeTV is actually $83 after taxes. The Xfinity Ultimate TV service is about the same price as YoutubeTV and has about the same channels. I have done these calculations a few times, and always decided to keep my current Xfinity service. I also like that, when you lose your internet connection, the Xfinity cable boxes will still provide TV channels. Do the math before switching.

The prices I stated are using our own modems, we have had good luck using the Arris Surfboard G34. Also, the internet prices are under contract and need to be periodically renegotiated. I recently got the new customer rate renewed at our Villages home by making an appointment at the Xfinity store on the corner of 441 and Rolling Acres. As a side note, I was able to get to the Xfinity store via golf cart by parking at the Sketchers Factory Outlet and crossing Rolling Acres. Best of Luck. |

I have the 1gb Xfinity internet service, and I consistently get about 935mb to 950mb on an ethernet connected desktop computer. It is lower on Wi-Fi connected devices.

- If no then you can save money by dropping to 300Mbps which is more than adequate for streaming to multiple televisions - If yes then see if Quantum is in your area as they advertise 900Mbps for only $35. Do you really need a home phone? (we dropped ours about ten years ago) - If you don't then you can save by dropping that and using only your cell phone. - If you want to keep our home phone number active then consider a service like MagicJack and port your home phone to that. We did this and after about a month we used the call forwarding capability of MagicJack to forward our calls to our cell phone. MagicJack kept the old home number active at a fairly low price but all calls came to our cell phone. We have found that we rarely watch network television or live broadcasts. We have YouTubeTV through the football season but then pause it from February to August saving about $80/month. We spend most of our time watching shows on Netflix, Hulu, or AppleTV (free with our phone plan). I think we end up paying about $65/month for all the streaming packages we have but we should probably cancel a couple to bring that down.
