Don't ever use a trickle charger. They never stop charging. Use a float charger. They only charge when battery voltage drops below a pre-determined level.

Thanks. I never heard of a float charger but will check it out.

Contact Battery Boys...a few years ago they installed a watering system that is basically an array of hoses to each cell (each cell has an indicator showing when water is low) and a single hose that I hook up to a water tank when I see a low-level indicator. It takes just a couple of minutes every few weeks. The tank & hose are kept in the garage when not connected. I think it was about $200 installed. They easily switch it to the new batteries upon installation of them. No fuss, no muss.

All this sounds very complicated to me.
Dump the electric, get a gas cart! |

Auto watering system is very easy. You use a supplied container, attach it to end of tube and let is pour. A wheel spins on the tube and when it slows down, you are full. Battery Boys are the best. They did mine 4 years ago. My electric cart is a 2007 Club Car with 4 seats and is like new. Never been on a golf course, very few miles. I keep it for the grandkids. I also have a gas cart. Good luck.

Upgraded batteries to maintenance free in our new cart, couple hundred more. No watering needed or possible since the batteries are sealed. Living on the edge a bit, not a lot of experience here with maintenance free.

Check your manual for your charger to see if it automatically charges battery when it drops down in charge from not being used for a few days. Some do.
