Memories

It reminds me of when I worked for the railroad in NJ. Bay Head yard was there for probably 100 years, along comes a developer and builds dozens of high end houses. Folks buy the houses, then complain they hear train noise from the yard. |

Linker said he is hoping to see signs put up, instructing golf cart drivers to use the multi-modal path, rather than cutting through Winifred. CDD 5 Supervisor Jerry Knoll, who sits on the Project Wide Advisory Committee, recently paid a visit to Linker’s home. He admitted there appears to be a lot of golf carts cutting through the neighborhood. Knoll said he would raise the signage issue with PWAC." I can't believe that the powers that be are actually listening to this whiner. |

Just like complaining about golf balls hitting a house that sits next to a golf course. I also have another to add....folks want the quiet of country living so buy a plot near farms, then complain about farm odors that sometimes waft. Like my parents used to say----"some people would complain if they were hung with a new rope." I do hope NO signs go up on that path. We too have used it. Maybe he should complain about cars driving the street past his house. Can he hear the loud-speakers from the polo field??

I believe we are all guilty of using the shortcut thru Winifred. The problem is the speed people do in the neighborhood, passing carts, etc. Whenever I go thru I try to respect the neighbors.

I highly doubt anybody "speeds" through that path between houses, which is what the homeowner was complaining about. As far as "speeding" on Kingston Way goes, how fast are the cars going????

What about the one that cuts through the backside of Palmer that puts you on Winnifred Way? How about Morse Blvd. to Yemasee Loop? Could go on and on. These we put in when property was developed. Unless there are deed restrictions the are for the use of everyone. What next close pickleball courts because the noise can be heard over a quarter mile away.
If you don't like it here move. It's that simple. |

I'm sure in 2004 when that village was built it wasn't such high traffic but with the huge expansion of TV it may be getting a little crazy so for all who says he shouldn't have bought there he may be the original owner.

Maybe those who bought near the turnpike didn't anticipate heavier traffic Maybe those who bought near a pickleball court didn't anticipate the growing popularity of the sport. Maybe those whose homes back up to Morse Blvd between the 6's didn't anticipate the huge increase in traffic including trucks due to development south of 44. There are 2 houses , one on either side of that cut through. The owner claims 54,000 carts pass through there each month. Should they close the path and inconvenience the 54,000 because 1 or 2 are affected?????. Maybe they should close down Florida's turnpike since many more are affected. (And ban pickleball while they're at it). |

No, he chose to buy there. The villages has doubled 10 years so double the traffic including golf carts. |
