There are two recently announced "pockets" being developed by TV - premier homes and villas, both along 466. I used the term pocket because they don't seem to be as large as a typical "village."
So that leads to this question: How many other vacant "pockets" of property does TV own that could also be developed? Of course, I'm thinking of property north of 466A. I'm also thinking of currently vacant property, so please don't suggest something like, "They could develop the polo grounds." |

In totality, TV does, indeed, cover at least 27,000 acres! Within the broad outlines of that acreage, there's a lot of "pockets" potentially developable, but much of it is wetlands, and The Developer is generally eco-friendly! SWR ![]()

private owner has sold to the Villages, proposed building in near future, that acreage is equal to the area now being developed east of 466/Morse Blvd.

jebartle....that's an interesting tidbit of information. I went to the Lake County Property Appraiser site and see that area has a number of parcels in it.... many of which (but not all) are owned by The Villages Developer. I wonder, as Champ first questioned, whether this is another area not on the original plan that could become future residential development.
This would be a good question for the Developer from the VHA during their quarterly Q&A with him. Here's a link that should get you to the area: http://gis.lakecountyfl.gov/gisweb/d...altkey=1484715

Just take a look on Google Earth, at the acreage between the right of the polo fields at 466 and all the way across to The Villages on the far right of the middle space.

I saved a supplement form the Daily Sun from 2006 written by H. G. Morse. It is 4 pages long. It is titled Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. It states that The Villages, at that time was 25,000 acres.

When we moved here in 2004, on 472/Rainey Trail as you head away from the circle at Arnold Palmer CC, there used to be a large horse farm, training, horse show tract of acerage. TV bought it (rumored at $18,000,000???)...it is now Bridgeport Lake Miona Shores.
Completely disconnected from TV in the middle of non TN developments. The only connection to TV is a cart crossing into Ashland. I would not rule out many more "pockets" just like this that they may currently own or will acquire. Why would they not take advantage of/exploit their successful money making, in high demand enterprise??? btk |

I grew up about 25 miles from the real "Field of Dreams" located near Dyersville, Iowa. Indeed "If you build it, they will come."
