Red face Sharon Rose Wiechens Preserve

My wife and I went for a walk at the Wiechens preserve this afternoon. This was the first time we had been there. One thing I noticed was that there were no benches either in the observation tower or the boardwalk. It would seem to me that some benches would have been installed as that is quite a long walk on the boardwalk. I'm surprised that benches were not installed.

If benches......creates future bench saving problem.

We thought the same thing. Took sandwiches with us for lunch and ended up taking them on down to the ball park. It is a beautiful area, though and we had a nice walk out on the boardwalk. There are a couple areas that seem to be designed for benches, and we wondered if they might come later. I guess it's possible that as a preserve, Fish and Game (or whoever manages such things) might prohibit them. Does anyone know?

Did you see any critters? When we went we saw nothing but some bugs...no alligators, no fish...not even one bird!! Maybe wrong time of day? It was about 6:30 pm.
Loved the dog park and watching the dogs!
Agree there should be some seating.

Default Memorial benches?

Perhaps there will be memorial benches put in as there are all over The Villages?

I dont think the boardwalk is wide enough to have a bench.

Default John Chestnut Sr. Park.

Pinellas County, Florida, Park & Conservation Resources - John Chesnut Sr. Park

Reminds me of a park in Palm Harbor, Florida I liked to visit and take walks. They had separate areas with picnic benches under canopies along with the boardwalk.
