I guess the model is irrelevant. I'm confident that the developer was dropping these units into all spec homes, at the time....
I would like to swap out bulbs in these units. However, the method of accessing the internals of the fixtures is not intuitive. If anyone is able to forward practical advice/instructions on how to access the internals, I would be appreciative. Doing this "right first time" will avoid: - Damage to the fixtures - Embarrassment to the homeowner - Trips to Urgent Care Thank you, in advance |

Thanks....do you have experience with this unit or is this general advice? I've tried to gently rotate the glass shade, but it does not seem to want to move. Thanks, again.

I don't recognize the exact unit that you have, but I have replaced bulbs on several glass globe units that are very similar. If you are trying to unscrew the metal shade, that is incorrect. You need to unscrew the glass part itself. The glass globe actually has glass threads on it, and they screw into the metal part. But the way to remove the globe is to use friction to unscrew the glass globe from the metal part. Turn it counterclockwise. Sometimes it requires a little bit of force to unstick it. That has been my experience.

Note that there are several youtube videos of how to remove the glass globe. Also, you may try turning it clockwise to unstick it and then turn it counterclockwise to remove it. Good luck.

You were spot on, sir! The glass globe comes off by unscrewing from the installed fixture.
Globe out, washed and drying. Bulbs out and I am off to Ace for replacement bulbs! Again, thank you. |

That works fine until you try to remove a flush handle from a toilet.
