We are going to be visiting TV for 6 days or so...leaving this Friday. Just wondering if anyone has noticed if the Town Squares, restaurants, etc., have become less populated as the month of March continues. I would guess people start heading back home in March and April but I am curious as to whether it is a noticeable difference yet.

It seems end of April or least after tax season before I notice a difference.

Not this "snow bird". I am planted here until June. I actually think (with no data to back it up) March is the highest of the high season here. The weather this year is , you will have a ball.

PS. Now for a really important question . Being here 8 months a year, am I still a snow bird? Seems someone like myself is away much more than snow season.

If you return back to a snow belt location for any period of time you're a snow bird, but it you temporarily leave for any amount of time to another snowless climate, then I guess you could call yourself a.... Bird Dog!

Most of the "snowflakes" (renters) leave at the March. Some of the snowbird owners leave around Easter. Some of them stay through most of May and are out of here by Mother's Day. You should see a decrease in the population as we move into April.

Thanks, finally I heard the definition of "snowflakes". Been hearing this term and couldn't figure out what it was.

The definition of "snowflake" that I've always heard (and what we go by) is people who show up at various times throughout the year and generally don't stay too long each time. That's us!!

I don't understand why you folks aren't into political correctness more. If you were you would understand that they are not called "snowbirds" they are referred to as "seasonal residents".

I suspect based on the bad winter that most "seasonal residents" will not be in a rush to return home at least until the snow completely melts.

So "seasonal residents" you may get home just in time to celebrate Memorial Day.

Thanks for everyone's input! We plan on skipping the snowflake and snowbird stages and morph right into frog in a couple of years!
