Default Striping golf cart trails

Now i have read both in the poa and hoa the reason some cdd's don't want to stripe trails down the middle is that is gives the impression that it is only for golf carts and it will drive people to drive to close to the center line. What about rain on your windshield, dark, and headlights from other carts . maybe they will put reflectors on the sides i hope.

I totally agree it would be great to have something for those nights when you just can't see the trail. Reflectors or white paint on each side would be great!

Stripe-ing will be a waste of $; the problem is aggressive and rude golf cart operators. As a bicyclist who rides the Rec. trails, I have had some very dangerous encounters with aggressive drivers who pass me too close or cut back in front of me to avoid an on-coming cart.

We drove home the other night when there was plenty of condensation in the air and altho we kept wiping the windshield it was still difficult to safely drive. Oncoming golf cart lights made it worse. Reflective paint outlining the paths would be so helpful.

This would be the most ideal: to leave unmarked and wide open the entire golf cart path, which would support the "multi-modal" nature of the trails, while marking the edges with whatever would be most effective and most cost-effective: white paint or reflectors.

If they are striping the recreational trails for safety reasons, They need to take a look at the accident history. What is the nature of the accidents that occurred? Is it something that striping or reflectors would've helped? I would guess that most accidents happened during the day, so reflectors wouldn't cut the accident rate. I suspect that most accidents are related either to excessive speed or driver error, and again, striping would not cut the accident rate.
