Default Help with ceiling fan light kit

Our Labelle home has Kichlor fans without any lights. I was wondering if anyone has had success in having someone put on a light kit on this kind of fan. I don't see where there any kits made for this brand of fan but was hoping maybe someone has had a handy man who has figured a way of doing it.

Based on the cost of the light kits for the fans the builder installed, we decided to buy new fans that already had the lights. Of course, we didn't have to hire an electrician, so that may affect your decision.

Check with the Villages Home Warranty Department and see who installed the fans. They may have kits available for the specific brand of fans installed.

I bought kits at Lowes (these are universal), and installed my own on 3 or 4 fans. Some words of caution, read the lamp kit box very carefully, one of the ones we bought uses a G22 (or something like that) lamp, which is a PIN based lamp, NOT the normal screw in base. We had to return it so that in the future we could easily get replacement bulbs, or LED bulbs. The second thing is that, as I recall the Kichler fans have the typical connector to PLUG in the light kit. If you can make sure the kit you buy has the mating connector, this makes the job much easier, otherwise you need to cutoff the connector and splice the wires. If you are not comfortable doing this, get a licensed electrician.

Finally, if you want the light and the fan switched separately, you will need to use the RED wire in the ceiling connection, and change out the single switch on the wall to a duplex switch and connect the RED wire. If you are not comfortable doing this wiring, hire a licensed electrician.

There was previous thread on this conversion with lots of information, you should be able to search for it.
Hope this helps.
