Is there any way of having the Villages installing small signs at the swimming pools shower area that would read :PLEASE DO NOT PLACE ANY CHAIRS, TABLES ETC. WITHIN 10 FEET OF SHOWER. It could be worded differntly but should be in english only. At the Hadly pool people, set up their chairs directly under the showers. This has caused many tence situations and hard fellings in what is supposed to be a relaxing atmospher. The signs should be placed ON THE SHOWER POLE. Rule # 2 for pool use is to "Shower before intering pool" Asking these brain dead people to PLEASE MOVE THEIR CHAIRS has resulted in unpleasent confrontations.

Try this simple solution. Shower before arriving. And then wrap your towel around yourself and shower the bleachy water off you when you get home. I have never in my whole life showered at the pool.

This site is not the official site of The Villages so, asking to have signs posted ain't gonna happen with this request. I suggest you call the recreation department with your concerns and the need for some kind of signage. This number was obtained from the district government site...Village Community Development Districts Recreation Administration 3325 Wedgewood Lane The Villages, FL 32162 Phone: 352-674-1800 Fax: 352-674-1805 Email Recreation Room Reservations 3325 Wedgewood Lane The Villages, FL 32162 Phone: 352-674-1810 Fax: 352-674-1815 Business Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., EST Monday – Friday |

I would speak to the Rec center people at that people and ask them to "police" it a little better, they should handle those situations. It seems to me that pools vary widely as to having an "official" person at the pool checking IDs, etc....
Many people like to rinse off after being in the pool before they sit and soak up sun. The shower area needs to be kept clear for its intended purpose, imho. |

What would happen if you just announced with a big smile, "I'm going to rinse off", reached over and turned on the shower?

I'm with bil and uptown, if i'm coming out of the pool and need to rinse off i would go to the shower and rinse off, any collateral damage is the fault of someone putting their chair too close....gn

No sign necessary as the previous posters stated. Just slide up to the shower and have at it!! The stupid will figure it out very quickly. With the pool area being so large, there is no reason to park your chaise under the shower.
Hit the cold water first and let it run ![]()

If I wanted to take a shower at Hadley pool I would go over and say to the people who had their chairs too close;
"Excuse me. I would like to take a shower, may I trouble you to move a bit?" I bet they never noticed they were sitting too close. But before I would aggravate someone for something so trivial, or pour cold water on someone I didn't know, I would go home and shower. How did I get to be 71 years old and never even think about something like this?

The water at the pool shower is really cold. It will be refreshing for anyone sitting to close.
