Default Championship and Executive course recommendations

Hi All! My wife and I are arriving soon for our five day lifestyle visit. I (she doesn't golf) plan on playing one Championship and one Executive course during our stay. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations from the "locals."

We're not sure where we're staying yet but suspect it will be in the Wellpoint area. Thanks for your help!

The two newest championship courses are close to you - Shallow Creek and Southern Oaks. And the newest executive, Laurel Oak is even closer.

The top championship courses are supposed to Palmer and Lopez but they are a long way from WellPoint.

From where you are staying, I would recommend Shallow Creek over Southern Oaks for Championship golf. Grey Fox is probably the best Executive course south of 44. Have a great time : )

Do two championship rounds instead. You have that option. Championship golf is free for lifestyle visitors. Take full advantage.

Default Golf

Was just there on a lifestyle, we played Bella Glade. Nice thing was they supplied the golf cart so we didn't have to drive ours, we rented Taylormade Qi10 and Kalea clubs for $45 a set. (and they give you a dozen balls with each rental) We ended up doing a dry run up the day before and got everything ready for our round. Course was in good shape and very nice.

Agree but Glenview is probaby the best conditioned course in TV. Poster needs to get in car(too far by cart) and check out areas north of 466

You may want to check the Greens Aerification Schedule on the Golf The Villages website before you make your decision, The Exec courses began being punched in May and the Championship courses start to be punched in June.

Assuming the OP has a car then drive to Palmer and use one of the course carts. Make sure you play the Riley Grove 9 . Also heed the aerification schedule advice.

There are so many wonderful golf courses, but since you are so far south your closest championship course would be Shallow Creek or Southern Oaks. If they give you 2 rounds of golf for free, I would do the 2 championships and then just pay to do an executive course. It's so much cheaper to play those than the 18 hole courses. Your wife can ride along.
