Default Christmas Day - what's open?

Hi all

Going to be there the whole week of Christmas and was just wondering if any businesses were open on Christmas Day

I doubt there will be many, if any, but thought I'd ask - thanks

The Pools should be open. Edit-guess not.

Pretty sure all the Chinese restaurants and take-outs will be open.
Meanwhile, please remember something important:

When you go to a business on Christmas Day, you're telling the employees there that you want them to NOT be home with their families. If you're an actual Christian, this should mean something to you. Prepare in advance, cook at home, let these folks do the same. The vast majority of residents of The Villages, and families surrounding our community, are Christian. If "Jesus is the reason for the season" then stay home and honor the spirit of the holiday, by respecting those employees who also wish to honor it.

I'm not Christian, but I've worked retail for many years. I can't count how many Christmases I volunteered to work, to give one of my Christian co-workers a day off to observe their holiday. But it's so sad seeing those who had to come in, because there weren't enough non-Christians to cover the shift, not being able to enjoy their family on one of the holiest days of their religious year.

Correct. The article says it was updated on October 9, 2024, but the list includes at least 2 restaurants that no longer exist, Red Lobster and World of Beer in Spanish Springs.

Considering that Amelia's no longer exists, nor does World of Beer in Spanish Springs, the list has no credibility.

Can confirm for a fact that the Japanese Steakhouse in LSL is open

Sushi was good - service was excellent

Saw that Starbucks was open too, but did not stop in

Going to AMC theater in Leesburg later, so they're open too

And there are also MANY who appreciate the extra hours and holiday pay to help pay their bills. I have talked to a lot of people working on Thanksgiving and Christmas who were very grateful to be able to make that extra money. Let's tone down the virtue signaling and Christian judging. Personally, I find self-proclaimed "non-Christians" telling Christians how they should act and what they should do to be very patronizing.
