Default C'mon Down! Our residents want you here!!!

I emailed the following to the Christmas Tree Shops and their response is included below. Maybe we might get one here in TV!!!!

Subject C'mon Down! Our residents want you here!!!

Being from MA, and now retired to FL, I sure do miss the Christmas Tree Shop.

If you do a bit of research, please give some thought to opening a Shop here in our retirement paradise called The Villages in Central Florida.

This retirement community is the largest in the world and is compared and also sometimes called Disneyland for Seniors. The community has grown to a population of 80,000 and still growing strong. We have youthful retirees here that get around in golf carts rather than cars in most cases. You can not go wrong in considering a move here; you have to see it to believe it. [inserted TV website link]

We have a plethora of restaurants such as Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Village restaurants such as Nancy Lopez (who lives here) Restaurant and country club and Arnold Palmer restaurant and countryclub as well as hospitals and many medical practices, a polo field where international polo games are played, and on and on.

There's a website by residents of The Villages called Talk of the Villages (TOTV) (Inserted TOTV website link.)
where you can read the forums and especially the posts that are wishing for The Christmas Tree Shop to open here in our paradise.

Dear Ms. Church

Thank you so much for your email - your community sounds wonderful!
We will forward this information along to the appropriate people.

Best Wishes -

Default Christmas Tree opens in FL!

So here we are visiting my folks on Cape Cod and I find out that Christmas Tree Shops is indeed opening a store in Florida and in fact just over one hour drive from TV. My wife is thrilled and I imagine we will be making trips that way once we are back in TV. Finally, now maybe Trader Joes will follow.

Default A Christmas tree shop in Orlando area

A new christmas tree shop just opened at 130 E Altamonte Drive in Altamonte Springs I get Christmas Tree shops email and they sent me a notice of the new store. I'm in Indiana and don't really know how close this is to the villages, but it said in the Orlando Area.

I Googled it from our home in the S/E corner of The Villages to the Altamonte Springs address, and it came out to over 46 miles and about an hour and 15 minutes or more drive. Strangely, the corner of Buena Vista and 466 also showed the same time of an hour and 15 minutes with 5 miles further in distance.

I think Christmas Tree Shops are like a glorified Dollar Store.
