Default Clay pottery show/sale at Mulberry Grove

Just got back from this show and sale of clay pottery made by Villagers. The pieces are gorgeous and the prices are incredibly low. We used to live in an artsy fartsy community (tiny mountain town...35 art galleries, 7 restaurants and the only place to shop was a Wal Mart) and these types of pieces would have sold for 5 times what they are priced at this sale. If you have the time, go look. You won't be sorry.

It was today only, but there will be another event in November with 5 pottery clubs selling their work. I will tell you all about it next Sunday...

I am too; a little bit. Its just when you live in a town of 10,000 with 35 art galleries, it is a bit much...and lots of what is for sale is not art by any stretch of the imagination. It was a town joke that one sculpture that was donated to the humane society and always given as one of the top raffle prizeswas ALWAYS redonated back to them because no one wanted it in their home. LOL

The pieces I got yesterday are really gorgeous. I actually told one of the women I bought two pieces from that she was under valuing her work. A bowl for $8 and a plate for $3? A lovely very large ruffled bowl in purples and blues for $15?

There will be an Empty Bowls fundraiser featuring 5 pottery clubs and lots of entertainment on Sat. Nov. 19th at Lake Minona from noon to 4 pm. Tickets are $10 a person and all proceeds go to hunger relief. Tickets are available at Sweetbay or at the door. Ticket price includes soup, meal, entertainment, games, raffle and prizes. Sounds like a great time. I plan to go.

Hi Ladydoc,
Wish I was going to be in town for the next one! Can you post pictures of the pieces you bought? I would love to see them.

Default Pottery

Hi Ladydoc,

At the next show will they only show bowls or other items? I have gone to empty bowl pottery sales in the past and you kept the bowl that your meal was served in.

I am looking for specific items that will be placed in our stone mini waterfall.

Sounds like a fun show to go to. I hope to go.

All I know is that they told me that 5 pottery clubs work would be shown at the november event. I did not think to ask for more details.....
