Default Recreation Physical Fitness Centers

If we sign up at one, will we have access to all the centers?

Also, is one center better than the rest?

thank you.

Yes. Your membership will be honored at all of them. As far as one being better than the others, I don't know. I'm allergic to exercise. lol

There are 6 fitness centers, they all have the same basic equipment, and a membership will allow you to use any of them.

Access to all, same equipment in all of them, they all seem about the same. Sometimes the people using the facility make the difference. Visit a few and see what works for you.

Is Ezell counted in the six? I thought we were up to seven.

Correct. There are now 7 fitness centers. But, Ezell is not yet listed on The Villages website.

We enjoy varying the fitness center location from time to time. There is a tiny bit of difference in the equipment available. All the basics are in all the fitness rooms, though. Because of the geography of the Villages, there should be about three convenient locations for you no matter where you live in TV. Weight training is super important for our health, too.

This reply is from an actual user of the fitness centers. I haven’t been to the ones at Fenney or Ezell but as others have reported most equipment is the same in all of them except Mulberry Grove which is considerably smaller. Having said that there are some machines that are not in all centers. You need a Village ID to participate. They accept daily pay $5 and memberships that go from a week to a year. The year costs $380ish. There are antibacterial wipes available to wipe down equipment after you get off it. Some wipe it down before and after. No towels, no lockers and the restroom is the common restrooms in the main area of the rec centers. There is a water fountain.

Default Largest

We were told by the staff that Ezel is the largest fitness center built, and obviously the newest, since it just opened last week. All centers have similar equipment, with a few exceptions. What I like about the fitness centers is that they are close by, and never crowded. I have been to Rohan and Ezel, and the most people in there have been 6 people, and by their standards considered a “crowd”. LOL

Here are the prices. I'm not complaining, but they seem kind of high, since most things here are free. Maybe that is why they don't have as many customers.

If you have UHC, they offer free membership at MPV. At least before Covid it was free. Call your medical insurance supplement and ask

Ezell and Rohan are similar. Fenney is their little brother. None are very robust. I go to Planet Fitness in Leesburg. PF is very large and open. Able to use the machines without being to close to others. Very clean. Only ten minutes more in terms of drive time. No charge as my Medicare covers it. MVP is too expensive and does not accept my out of state Medical coverage even though I have Silver Sneakers included.

You could just give one of the centers and get your answers!
