Smile Cold this Morning!!

I turned on the heat this morning for the first time this year. It's 48 degrees and windy. Hubby and his group are playing golf. He wore long pants and a turtle neck.

The various impacts this storm has had on so many people and on such a large part of the country is simply stunning.

Check this video, starting at about the 35 second mark:

Superstorm Sandy: Status and Impact Maps - weather.com

That's pretty much everything east of the Mississippi!!!!!

In this case Sandy was not dandy.

What a storm that covered such a massive area. Thanks for posting.

I was just wondering in the block wall homes do they insulate the walls, in the wood frame homes the walls should have the standard 4" insulation, just curious

It has been chilly outside and we haven't turned on the heat today. It feels nice in our block and stucco.

With the block and stucco homes (and the poured walls homes as well), the builders put furring strips on the inside and foam board insulation panels between the strips. The wood frame homes have an exterior house wrap and R-11 batt insulation on the exterior stud walls.

Yes it was cold outside but my house only got down to 68 and that was with a window open. Not time for heat (yet).

Our house isn't stucco and it's been just fine w/o turning the furnace on....so far. It has been chilly but I won't complain given what folks up north are dealing with. I would say FL was really fortunate not to have been hit by Sandy! BUT in the long run I dare say all of us will be affected eventually by "her". So sad to see the destruction etc.........

I just walked my dog with coveralls on and a face mask.

31 degrees w/20 mpr wind.

Then I turn on Fox News right @ the time of

It's going to be along winter for me.

Where did you buy coveralls and a face mask for your dog? I always thought dogs came with a fur coat.
