Default what time can we put out our trash

Does anyone know what the earliest time is that we can put out our trash for pickup the next day? I go to bed early and usually put mine out before it gets dark. Is that too early?

I've seen trash out at various times. I think neighbors are understanding if you do it while you can still see when you're walking or are leaving for the day. So, as long as it is not out for days at a time, you should be fine.

Thanks red. But something makes me think there is a time that your not supposed to put it out before like 4pm. I had mine out about 2pm one day and a woman stopped and yelled at me. 2 of my neighbors had theirs out too. Then next thing i know here comes comm watch driving by looking at my bag. He didnt say anything and i just left it out there.

Very sorry to hear you got "yelled at" by the neighbor and the "evil eye" by the Community Watch for putting your trash out too early. Doesn't sound very friendly, does it? People get anal about the most asinine things (pun intended).

But I find that during snowbird season, the temperament is not as gentle and understanding than other times. But maybe it's not "snowbird season" but simply the growth and abundance of people.

But...to your point: I read somewhere that the trash cannot be put out other than the day it is due to be picked up, but I am sure this is not too rigorously enforced. My approach: I put the trash by the front door the night before, and take it out to the curb during my potty run in the wee hours (another pun). No one has yelled at me ......... yet.

Default No biggie...

I've seen it put out a day or 2 early when owner has gone traveling.

It's not too big a deal as long as it's not everyone and it's not often!

Have not seen any raccoon damage though.

Per deed restrictions.............trash should not be placed curbside no earlier than the day prior to the scheduled pickup day.
You can see your deed restrictions (if you didn't read them in your closing papers) here:

Putting the trash out a couple of days before pickup day is an open invitation for burglers. One of our neighbors found that out the hard way when he put his out on Friday for Monday pickup. (He doesn't do it anymore.)

When you have travel plans, arrange for a neighbor to do it for you. That's what we all do around here. Sometimes, if we have more than one bag, we put one of them in front of an absent neighbor's just so it looks like someone is there.

Since last Thursday was our recycling day in Tamarind Grove and also Thanksgiving, I've been looking at several homes recycling sitting at the curb for the past 7 days until it was finally picked up this morning. So considering that, I wouldn't worry about a few hours.
