Do any of the Recreation Centers have indoor swimming pools?

No, and I really wish there was an indoor lap pool (like the sports pools)! I think a petition is needed!

Like first names think alike!

Yes, we definitely do need indoor pools.

Gracie said that every square inch of TV is spoken for...and planned out....and I believe she is 100% correct. There are no plans for indoor pools.

I realize that we have to think outside of TV for perhaps a private entitiy. I am quietly working on it.

However, a petition wouldn't hurt. I started a thread way back when the annual TV questionaire went out. Perhaps someone who lives there full time could work on a petition? I'm a part-timer and I'd support anyone who would start a petition.

I swim 1/2 mile every day. It's not easy when I'm in TV and the air temp is cool in the winter months. I hear it more and more when I'm swimming. People are perplexed why there are not some indoor pools.

And yes, my name is Karen!....aka SWIMdawg

Default Need indoor pool

Because of all the rain and lightning, many many people are not able to use the outdoor pools now and of course schedules are being canceled. Pool exercises is all the exercise many here use or can use because of arthritis.

I am a little surprised that there are no indoor pools. Especially since the winter Florida weather can be cool at time, too cool to swim outside. Are any of the outdoor pools heated in the winter months?

Keep working Karen. We need a Y just outside TV. I say outside because I doubt one would ever be built in TV. There is a beautiful new Y facility just a couple miles from our summer hangout. Fantastic fitness, swim pool, therapy pool, gym, rooms for zumba & Yoga etc., trainers and the works!! Non-for-profit makes the rates very reasonable.

I agree. A YMCA facility with indoor lap pool just outside TV would be fantastic, and as justjim said, non-profit makes membership rates affordable to all.

Most of the new (beautiful) Y facilities we've seen have been largely endowed by a donor or his/her family. The Morse Family YMCA sounds like a great idea, for TV and the surrounding communities.
