Homeowners Insurance

Here's a link to a previous thread about home insurance and sinkhole insurance. You can find lots of differing opinions about both on this board. I believe your best resource is an insurance agent. Get several quotes. If you have an address, you can just call over the phone for a quote. All homes are different prices due to age and size and whether they are manufactured or concrete block stucco or vinyl, hip roof or gable roof. Age of the home can make a difference also.
Some companies to check are Allstate, The Villages Insurance, AAA, AARP, USAA to name a few.

Moving into a brand new patio villa in September. Cost without sinkhole was $467 and with sinkhole it was $756. I was told the sinkhole would only be available initially and if I didn't take it by settlement, I would not be able to get it later. I worked with Sumter/Marion Insurance toll free is 866 556-0456. I tried to get a quote from the other Sumter Landing insurance agency but they wanted to set me up with an agent phone call in 2 weeks. I figured if it took that long to get a 1 minute quote, how long would it take for other services.

You may have misheard something. They called us back in an hour or so. We had ins in hand with sinkhole, the next day.
