Default Comcast gateway/modem

Planning to replaced my leased Comcast gateway/modem with a purchased one.Found the same model as my leased gateway(Arris TG862G-CT) for $90 at Dontleaseyourmodem.com
I think the gateway is used/reconditioned.
Has anyone used this company to purchase a Comcast gateway?
Also looking for recommendations for any other gateways that I can purchase.
Than you.

After you have installed your new modem/router then please, PLEASE password protect your wifi and change the admin user name and password!

I second buying it from amazon online if possible. Second choice would be Best Buy.

I would buy it from Best Buy in case you have a problem. But that is just me.

You may also want to keep in mind if you have telephone service with comcast. if so you will require a certiant model. I purchased mine thru amazon when I lived in VA. And brought it down with me and do not have to pay the monthly rental fee.

Purchased this modem at Walmart for $129.
Arris/Motorola SBG6580 (Retail)
No problem to setup with Comcast.Returned my Comcast modem and told them I was not happy with my monthly cost.It was $39 a month with the modem but went up to $75 a month after I took the service off the vacation plan. They gave me a no contract rate of $35 a month with my owned modem.
I am Happy.
When I return to PA in April I will cancel my service and sign up upon my return in Sept for a Promo rate with Tom,the audio video guy here on TTOV.

Make sure Comcast does not charge for a rental modem after buying one. We owned ours, and when we came off vacation hold, they began charging for a rental. It took about a year to get the rental charges dropped and get a refund.
