Default Pathetic showing

Last night, the 8 pm show, Sammy Kershaw.
The whole 1st 2 rows were taken up by zombies who never smiled and barely clapped. The 3rd row was mostly empty.
I find it hard to believe that these idiots actually paid for tickets to this show. (TV holds back prime seats to shows so they can give them away)
We didn't even get to hear his best 2 songs because they were saved for the encore, which didn't happen because all he looked down and saw were people who looked like they didn't even want to be there.
I sure hope the audience at the 5 pm show treated him better. I was embarrassed for TV.

Maybe they thought they were going to see Sammy Kaye.

This is true also at the Squares. There's no toe tapping or hand clapping even to the most liveliest music!

The lovely Mrs. Trap and I went to Lake Sumter Landing last evening to see The Bendys. Small crowd but about 6 small kids from around 2-6 were having a blast "dancing" on one side of the dance area (shepherded carefully by parents) and some adult dancers on the other side. Yep, lots of enthusiam and applause from the small but energenic audience.

We were there from about 7-8 and the temps had cooled down to be a very nice evening.

The Bendys are an excellent group to enjoy on any of the squares.

I was at the Sammy Kershaw too and I agree, it was a very poor turnout. One guy was really having fun though.

At the 5th Dimension concert last week someone in the first row sat there with his arms folded almost the whole time. Florence LaRue nicely called him out on it.

That's just sad.

Hopefully we don't get a bad reputation from performances like this and other groups/performers decide to skip us on their tours.

Well, it was 6 years ago, but apparently he's also had his good nights

Sammy Kershaw - Youre Still On MY Mind - YouTube

Very sad to see any performer not appreciated but you can't be a big hit every time you go out there - too bad somebody didn't ask for a request that might have broken the ice or maybe his agent needs to do more research on demographics before he takes a booking.

Depends on how much they get paid....while I agree the audience has an impact of the performance the performer has an obligation to perform at his best to be paid. The last three shows I have been to at Savannah, Fleetwood Mac Tribute, 5th Dimension and Jimmy Buffett Tribute were not close to being sold out but all three did what they were paid to do. I wonder if some of the ticket prices are getting to be too much for the venue?

Had great seats for the Johnny Mathias show and the filled to capacity audience was ecstatic.

Maybe the audience demographic for his style is not here. He was a borderline star in his prime.

I wasn't at the show, but I do like country music. My complaint is the way they dress....old jeans, dirty tee shirts. Last country band I saw was Vince Gill and true to form, that is the way they were all dressed, which I found insulting. Maybe they should show some respect for the audience if they expect applause. Just my opinion.
