Default Quick Question

When a rental advertises "high-speed internet" - does it usually mean they have a computer already hooked up for your use or just the connection for a laptop?

I would think it means they have an internet connection. I rented a place which advertised that way in January. We had to bring our own computer. You'd best ask for details from the owner. BTW, the unit I rented had the internet access in the back bedroom. So. if you wanted to surf the internet, you had to sit back there by yourself. I went out and bought a low cost wireless router and offered it to her for my cost ($50.00) at the end of my month and she turned me down. She also had the smallest non-HD TV I've ever seen. It was like going back in time 20 years. I told my wife I was in a technological wasteland.

Default High speed internet

When we rented for a month before buying our home last summer, it was advertised as "high speed internet" also. No computer in the house, but the wireless router was nice. Enjoy your visit!

Make sure you ask the owner of the rental exactly what they're offering, just as a means of confirming. But like others have stated, it's most likely just the connection.

Yes, it is the connection. I don't know of any owners who provide a computer.

Actually I have a spare laptop that I have let tenants use. I provide high speed wireless internet access through a secure (password protected) connection. So people can use there laptop any place in the home. But I also am able to provide the laptop if someone needs it. And also a printer.

I rented in TV twice last year -- different villages each time -- both had routers in them, but I had to bring my own laptop. I'm renting again in June in a different village. This home also has a router for high speed internet access, but I will be bringing my laptop.
