Default Speaking of backing to empty land ...

Does anyone know anything about the land behind the Rio Grande family pool? I know that TV doesn't own it, but who does? I've tried the Sumter Co PA website, but it doesn't allow you to select that area to see anything about it. This section is north of 466, just south of Rio Grande, bordered on the west by Alameda, Amaya, etc, and on the east by Del Mar etc.

Familiar with that property. One lot on that piece of land sold to the villages for 5,400 in Sept. (from an estate). Look in Zillow for the villages.

That's in Lake County. Go to the Lake County Property Assessor's web site -- not quite as easy to use as Sumter County's, but the same information is there. http://www.lakecopropappr.com/index.aspx

Rumor in the neighborhood this summer was that TV bought it from the farmer who was working it. One of the road-ending fences was removed and part of the land was used for temporary dumping and equipment storage during the reconstruction of nearby recreation trails. If you look at all the roads that approach the site from the East side they suddenly dead end at the property line, no turnarounds or loops. It seems that these are planned entrances to the property when it is developed. The way everyting was laid out 12-15 years ago hints that the developer has plans for that property and, if already doesn't own it, has a pretty solid first option to purchase it when the farmer or his estate wants to sell it.
Just my opinion and observation, no hard facts.

Skip..both of those parcels are inside the Villages and designated as preserves. I believe those stakes are to mark nesting areas so that mowers know to avoid them.

I heard the logical explanation before, makes sense to me. Not as controversial as stakes for roads and lots for more bungalows.
