Default Coming to TV in March

We - hubby and I- will be spending a week in TV in March from the 9th thru the 16th. We were not able to do the Lifestyle Preview again since they were all booked. We will have guess passes. So does anyone know of something great going on during that time period that we would definitely want to attend? We, of course, will be checking the Recreation News and plan on making a schedule from that; but it is not ready for March yet and I want to make the most of the time while we are there. So any ideas are appreciated. Sorry for the run ons... We have been there 3 other times and will be meeting with Realtor and job hunting and house hunting so want to make good plans. Also am interested in Pickle ball. Is there an opportunity for those just visiting to join in? if so what days and times and locations? I have never played so would not want to interupt other competetitors. I want to repect that of course many activities are for the residents who can attend all the time so don't want to attend an event not meant for us...Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Default No replies

So I was gone all day and couldn't wait to get home and see what kind of responses I got as to anything going on in March or my Pickleball question.

And alas....no answers so I will hopefully get some later.

Default March

You might luck out and catch St.Patricks Parade in either square. Haven'r heard the date yet. as far as pickelball look in the rec paper you can go to any of the open play pickelball times at any of the centers.Other then that I'd say watch the papers and check back on TOTV.

Check the Recreation News, which comes out every Thursday. You can get a good idea of events that happen the same day each week. There are also some upcoming events listed under "Special Events" on the Villages sales email that comes out the beginning of each month. If you aren't on that email mailing list, ask to be put on. The email that came out this week included special events for February and March. The events list is probably included somewhere else on thevillages.com website, but I'm not sure where.

As far as pickleball goes, several of the rec centers offer Pickleball 101, which is a very basic lesson teaching you how to play the game, keep score, etc. Check the Recreation News, and call ahead to register. I'd recommend taking that course, if it works out with your schedule. My husband and I took it, there is so much more to pickleball than what it first appears.

Will you be staying close enough to rent a golf cart? I'd recommend doing that, if possible. No matter what, you will have a great time!

Default Daily Sun

Check the on line version of the Daily Sun, there are various links that may help you. You will also find on the main page (left side halfway down) a link for the most recent copy of the Recreation News, that should give you a head start on rec news before your trip.

You all have been so helpful...We have a golf cart with the place we have rented but I am so glad that you mentioned it...I may not have known and would have missed out on a lot of the fun just ridding in the golf cart.

Thanks to everyone I will definitely follow up on these ideas.

One thing you will want to do as soon as you get to TV is to stop at one of the sales offices and get a map of the TV that shows the golf cart trails. This is an 8 1/2 x 11 size map that is very helpful in getting around. It can be folded in half and placed under the score card holder for reference. There will be times that you want to go somewhere and you know it is on a one side of the road but you are on a path that is on the other and this will help you get there. All the cart paths are marked in red.

Have fun and enjoy your stay.

Don't forget the $5.00 map from the Mercantile store. It is an excellent map with a good legend of the streets and villages. We have practically worn it out.

Default Line Dancing Lessons

If you're interested, there are beginner line dancing lessons at some of the rec centers. You can find out where they are held in the activities schedule. Line dancing is very popular at the squares every nite. Try it, it's a lot of fun!
