Default Community AED Groups

Considering the COVID-19 Virus and impact, I was wandering if anyone from one of the community AED groups has received any advice, help, assistance from the Village Safety group which promoted this effort.

Are volunteers provided gloves, masks, advice etc ? Is it possible that this support group may becoming less effective because of COVID fears?

Bottom line is it would seem that support would dwindle and I am asking if The Villages Safety group is doing anything to mitigate?

This was recently provided to AED volunteers. Essentially, they are saying, "Be careful." That is all.

Sounds like the AED program is essentially dead. Seems that the Public Safety Department could at least do a little brainstorming with community AED groups as to what can be salvaged out of the AED groups. To simply state that volunteers in risk groups should refrain from the effort when every one in The Villages is in one of the risk groups.

There should be some mitigation available. More training of community members such that at least the AED could be brought to the home requiring service and the mate of the person requiring help could utilize. To simply let it end at someone may come is a total copout.

Also, where is the notification in the local paper telling AED community subscribers that local AED service you expect may not happen. They sure took credit for establishing the AED community buy in. Now it is basically hands off.
