What really amazes me is the fear that people have of inanimate objects. Are you afrid of your toaster, a hammer or your car? Cars kill more people than handgun do each year, yet I have not seem the fear of cars that I do firearms, but both will kill, hurt or maim you if used incorrectly. People kill people, things do not kill people. Remember that.

One of the things I do agree with as stated in one of the replies is that the vast majority of those that get CWL here or in any state don't know how to properly use what they are carrying.

For many years I was a certified Concealled Carry Instructor. In our other state it took 15 hours of training to get your license. 12 classroom and 3 on the range. I did not qualify anyone it was familiarization training only. You where instructed on loading, unloading, which end the bullet came out of, basic sight and trigger control and where the safety was located. Then you had to hit an 8x11 sheet of paper from 7 yards, 17 times out of 25.

I have been and still am a competive shooter. I would tell all my students, come shoot with us once in a while or take our home defense class so you will know what to do in case of an incident where you would be forced to use deadly force to protect yourself or your loved ones. The only ones that ever showed up to shoot or take the class was ladies. You see men have a DA (dumb a**) gene that makes them think they can shoot when really they don't have any idea of what they are doing in a defensive shooting situation.

To take a CWL class and then never practice only makes you a danger to yourself and those around you. So think twice guys before you get armed and make it dangerous for all of us around you. Know what you are doing and be able to do it correctly.

.

This one is easy. I NEED my car, my hammer and my toaster.

I have NEVER needed a gun and do not expect ever to need one in the future.

The debate goes on and on and on never to be settled.

I've never seen anyone after reading one side or the other say, "oh, I see your point, and have changed my opinon on the subject."

Some things never change.

I don't see what is so hard to understand. Some people want to keep and bear arms has provided to them under the United States Constitution. Some people do not want them to have that right. Some people don't care. Which one are you?

If one subscribes to or is an advocate of having insurance (home owners, auto, boat, ATV, golf cart) then you would/could clearly understand why some choose to carry a concealed weapon.....eh?

Most of us spend many thousands of dollars over our life time paying for insurance...the concept of which is one hopes to NEVER have to use it but it is there in the UNLIKELY event of an incident.

All who elect to carry a concealed weapon... the concept of which is one hopes to NEVER have to use it but it is there in the UNLIKELY event of an incident.

Both provide the same end result...avoiding becoming or being a VICTIM!!

Either have little or nothing to do with how safe it is in TV or anywhere else.

The biggest difference regarding acceptance of the concept or not...one of the above is not a political issue/leverage...one of the above is not portrayed on every news cast as the cause of the incident being reported...one of the above is not sensationalized by the media, entertainment, politicians or special interest groups.

Actually quite simple to understand...eh?:D

Are you sure you need your car, you can always walk, you can use a rock for your hammer and you can toast bread without a toaster. If you don't know how I am sure there are some that can show you how.

Having said that there are only two ways that you can get people to do something. This include everything. You can present a reasonable reason why they should do it, or you can use force to make them do it.

Being bigger than you if I wanted you to do something, I have to use either one or the other of these methods. Now to even the playing field, Samuel Colt made us all equal no matter our size.

Current world events could change you mind quickly. Our founding fathers insured that, WE THE PEOPLE, would always have a way to protect ourselves, the 2d Amendment.

There is no such thing as GUN CONTROL, its PEOPLE CONTROL. Just see how well it worked for Hitler, Moa, Pol Pot, and Stalin.

Gun control actually means being able to hit your target where you are aiming.

I know that most likely you will never change your mind, but do away with the 2d Amendment and the othe 9 in the Bill of Rights are meaningless.

When I was a kid (17) entered the Navy. I had to learn to assemble and disassemble a pistol and then they had me shoot it ten times. I never hit the target and never held a gun in my hand since. I have thought about keeping a gun in the house but my bride hates guns. So once again we compromised and did it her way. Kidding asideAmericans never never want to forfeit their right to own a gun. americans contiue to give up their rights slice by slice just a the folks did in Easter Europe under the communist.

I don't think you understand. I support the right to carry a gun. I love the constitution of the United States.

I just don't NEED a gun, never have needed one and don't expect to need one.

However, some of you guys are makin' me mad...............chilout

Bill-n-Brillo 07-21-2011 03:42 PM
