Hi all,
We have just had a meeting with a gentleman called Todd the Golf Operations Manager and he has agreed to pick up the whole cost of draining the pool, changing the filters, cleaning the pool sides and refilling with water. So well done to TV for not only responding quickly to our complaint and repairing the faulty head, but also for quickly standing up and taking responsibility and paying for putting it right. Since my earlier comments about running during day times occasionally, now I know more about how the system operates I have changed my mind. What I think should happen is that ALL water cannon heads boardering people's property should be operated around 7pm during the 4 winter months, 8pm during Spring and Fall and 9pm during the 4 Summer months. This sounds complicated, but all these sprinkler systems are Computer controlled and modifying the program to achieve this would be very easy and cheap to implement. This means that they will be going off behind the last golf round, but more importantly, that the people with the most interest in ensuring these sprinkler heads are operating correctly, the householders, would be able to monitor operation and notify TV of any problems. I will be writing to TV with this idea and encouraging them to adopt it. Having sprinklers going off in the middle of the night with no-one watching them is not acceptable and nor is doing nothing until someone is made ill by contact with contaminated water. Thank you to all of you who responded seriously and as far as I am concerned this thread is now closed. |

I just wonder if all the comments you have made about the staff at the golf course and the water department were really necessary to be posted. You had a problem you contacted them and they indicated a decision could not be made with out checking ( you didn't indicate you were told no). Then you post on here they are incompetent. After a short time they have fully accommodated your concerns. Advising other homeowners about the potential problem is noble on your part, however, all the other accusations were unnecessary. |
See. All it took was a few phone calls and golf operations stepped up to the plate and is going to cover the expenses. For some of you, if there isn't instant gratification, all you want to do is become litigious - call Dan Newlin, call Morgan and Morgan; sue whomever you can for everything they've got. Instead of getting it worked out the RIGHT way, like the OP did - SUE, SUE, SUE. For those of you with a lawyer on speed dial, karma can be a bitch.

Wowee! Relentless! The poster said nothing about people being incompetent nor did I read any accusations. They just posted what happened and how they felt about it. The OP was also very kind to those of you that tried to make them feel foolish for having what they felt was a legitimate concern. Cripes...try to be as forgiving to the homeowner as a lot of you are to "The Villages" when things go wrong.

Say what is on your mind. Everyone else does. I think that things worked out well, don't you? People responded according to their beliefs and their personalities. Frequent posters were themselves. That is all anybody can be. We can't always agree on here, but it doesn't take long to know who is fake, who is mean, who is good natured, who is always looking to "get" someone. I have changed MY mind many times due to these open discussions and not all of us have all of the answers. I enjoy reading things here and responding. Some people never respond and some people are always negative and some are always positive but some are true thinkers with kind hearts. I can't name all of them but I would start out with DBussone, and Rubicon and Bogie Shooter who are always dependable, have common sense and a helpful attitude.. I am often wrong and publicly humiliate myself. That is o.k. I enjoy the discussion. |

I am not going to take the time to point out where you are wrong....just go back and reread all of the OP posts. It is my opinion that posting all of the dirty laundry was unnecessary, and given some time those responsible did react favorably to OP concerns. A more reasonable post might have been when the issues was resolved and alerting other golf course homeowners with pools of the potential of irrigation water entering their pools. I retain the right to post................... |
Hey Admin. Close this one It's gonna get ugly

I'm happy everything turned out properly for you. The people in charge took the bull by the horns. Very Refreshing. Sounded like Boca Del Vista before we learned of the resolution. Carry on.:duck:

Yes. I stand by what I said. There were several issues here. Whether the water that came into to pool was dangerous enough to cause illness. That still hasn't been resolved. How long had the sprinkler head been broken. We still don't know. Who to call and in that I think the OP got a lot of useful advice. Now we know that the error was immediately corrected and we know that The Villages are not in this instance greedy bastards. It may be more dangerous to swim in a community family pool than to have reclaimed water come into your pool. We may never know. But everyone acted predictably just like themselves. |
