Which brings up the question - Why don't snakes bite lawyers?

Answer - Professional courtesy!

Oh, I forgot. He's the guy who always says it is an honor "to take your money".

Hi all,

Once again thank you for all your comments and to answer a few points raised.

If you look very carefully at the picture I posted, you will see that the sprinkler head is aiming DIRECTLY into our pool and as these things are like water cannons, then we are talking about a lot of gallons of water every minute that it is on!

As we are now fairly sure that this has been going on for months, if not years then collectively, we are talking hundreds if not thousands of gallons of unsafe water going into the pool, that we, family and friends use to swim in.

The normal tests that are done for normal pool checking DO NOT check for the range of contaminants that could potentially be in this water and for TV to test the water for the full range of possibilities to our satisfaction, would cost several thousands of dollars, far more expensive than emptying the water, cleaning the pool interior, changing the filters and refilling the pool, which would likely cost just a few hundred dollars.

The situation so far is that we have contacted the golf course manager, a guy named Brad, who says he has to talk to the Water Managment people and also his own Manager, before he can accept responsibility!!!!! - WHY?

Then we have had a call from the Water Managment Company, a guy called Tye, who admits that HE would not drink the water from the sprinkler heads- so is it safe in our pool or what????? - but he was evasive and would not commit himself and agree that the water may/does need changing.

Our pool was filled and is topped up with potable drinking water and obviously with rain water, but even the rain water volume pales into insignificance to the amount of contaminated water that the golf course water cannon sprinkler head has been pumping into our pool every three nights for goodness knows how long - not happy.

Does anyone have Dan Newlans telephone number?

Did you ever wonder why you never had to add water to your pool during dry periods?

Not sure why you folks are joking around, the man came here with a serious issue to his family.

If you can't add anything constructive...............................

Before you call any lawyer--you better have damages---no damages no $$$$--spending $$$ to alleviate suspected damages, is not damages---also you must give the person you are potentially suing , the ability to remedy

Aw, come on Jim.....you know why. It's to divert attention from the couple of posters that added callous, uncalled for, heartless remarks.

Personally, I would go with Morgan and Morgan if it came to that.

gomoho 04-09-2016 07:14 AM

I still don't understand. If you believe it has been going on for months, and you've been using the pool, and no one is sick why the panic?

jimbo2012 04-09-2016 07:18 AM

Do all illness appear immediately?

No some take months to manifest themselves.

Did you read the water dept refused to drink the water from the sprinkler???????

Who wouldn't refuse? It's not potable water.

jimbo2012 04-09-2016 07:29 AM

That's the whole point, non potable water was added to a pool that is or was potable.

that's called contamination, he should be returned to status quo at expense of TV.

I think that's all he's looking for.

Jimmydoodlebug 04-09-2016 07:30 AM

Just shock your pool. It needs to be done occasionally anyway, even if you have a saltwater chlorinator.

Actually the joking around part isn't SOOOO bad. It's the people who get on here and try to make the poster feel small for having an issue, or, heaven forbid, can't admit The Villages may be doing something WR**G (dirty words, I know). Then the followers get on when they perceive a pooh pooh-er is being rebuked. If you wanna joke, joke...but if your only purpose is to pooh-pooh someone elses concern because it doesn't affect you, just refrain from posting. You can just read it, shake your head, and move along. Try it....
(Like maybe I should have here, but I feel so bad for the poster. We had reclaimed, or whatever you wanna call it, water where I came from, and we were advised by the city NOT to use it in our pools! If I were the poster I'd be upset, too.)

The OP would be well advised to talk to a professional, perhaps somebody in public health.

You may look at it like that, but many posts get everyone frightened and worried and sometimes that is unnecessary. The Villages have the money to rectify almost anything, but is it necessary here or right or fair? Of course you wouldn't want to fill your pool with reclaimed water, it isn't sanitary, but most of us, feeling bad for the poster were trying to point out that the very system to keep the water safe probably did so. Some folks have a lot of knowledge but not the right kind. Some folks like to sue. My experience with friends who did sue over something like this is that the lawyers went home with the money..

If I were in the OP's position I would call TandD. I feel assured that the money we pay to have the pool checked and cleaned and tested every week is doing the job to keep it swimmable and safe all of the time. I trust in this company because that is what they do for a living, build and maintain pools. And arguably they have built and do maintain more swimming pools than any other company in this country.

I would start there. If the OP had carefully read the article I linked on Swimming pool illnesses increasing, he would have seen some reassuring stuff.

I feel sorry for him. I am a big worrier myself. I almost always go back to the scientific method and I would start with the people who have the information. Pool people and my doctors.
