Converting to Gas
Is it possible/legal to bring in propane and change an electric stove to gas? There is no natural gas availability in this area of TV. If it is possible, can you recommend a company to do this? Thanks for any info.

As long as your burry the pig (tank) I believe that you can do it. Check with your local propane dealers. They can usually refer a contractor.

Installed a PIG (Propane in Ground) shortly after we moved in in 2010 and have kitchen stove, outside grill and outside smoker all connected. No problems and no hassle for TV. We used Suburban Propane 412 S Main St, Wildwood, FL 34785 (352) 748-2101 and are satisfied with their service.

Suburban took care of everything including any permits required. I just wrote a check. I don't even remember the cost cost but it is well worth it to be able to have a gas stove and not have to mess with the small tanks for the outside units.

Check with TECO to see if there is gas on your street. They have a lot of lines that people don't know about.

There is no "residential" natural gas service available south of 466A and the gas company verified no gas lines in the "residential" streets.
I have seen a number of propane gas tanks being installed in our neighborhood. We are seriously considering doing the same. Just can't get used to electric cooktop and really miss our dual fuel range. We had electric ovens and five gas cooktop burners. It was the best of both worlds. Don

Years ago I had a range that used propane. I found the smell to be unpleasant. Tanks that are used for barbecues don't seem to have that problem. I too am having difficulty adjusting to an electric range and would consider making the change to propane. Can anyone give me an idea of pricing to have this done?
