Default Cost of mini spilt in Lanai

I realize this may be information some may not want to share, and that is fine. I am considering a mini-split flush in ceiling installation for my enclosed lanai. As I start this process, if anyone can give me an idea of what I should expect to pay for such a system I would be appreciative. I will get quotes, but some idea of what to expect would give me a frame of reference. Again, I understand if some would prefer not to provide that info. No problem. Thanks.

$4,000 to $4,500 from Munn’s; ask for Rosalie.

The size of your lanai vs. the size of his will make a difference in the size/cost that you will need. Based on my experience, I recommend contacting Kalos for a quote, 352-243-7088.

Default Mini Split

We had Kalos install a Mini Split in our garage last year. They were a lot cheaper than Munn’s and Sunkool. Ask for Tyler

Thank you. I see many suggestions for Kalos. Good advice.

I too was going to buy the in-ceiling style until I did proper research about it on youtube. Once installed, the entire top of the unit inside the attic must be totally and adequately covered in insulation. If not, it will condense water on the outer walls of the unit and you will have a dripping rain that falls between it and the drywall hole into your living space. My attic space over the lanai was extremely difficult to get to and I, therefore, reasoned that servicing this unit from the topside to insure proper insulation would be a nightmare. Instead, I went for a ceiling unit that hung from the ceiling instead of being recessed into it. This way the entire unit is within the living space and the insulation barrier is no longer of any concern. You'll need to order it from home depot on their website and have a professional install it afterward. I’ve had two installed by Sunkool for about $5K in garage and lanai. In retrospect the unit in the lanai isn’t really needed. Opening the sliding doors to the living room cools it sufficiently. Try it before install. Do have insulation blown in above the lanai (and garage) at a minimum. Keeps the ceiling from cracking and insulates the room.
The unit with a heat pump (only a few hundred dollars more) has a four speed fan, whereas the one without has a three speed fan. This was the case when we bought ours. Mine are installed on the wall without any issues.
Maybe TMI, hope it helps.

I just had a 1½ ton mini split installed in our lanai ceiling last week. I got 3 estimates, one from Kalos, one from Munns and one from Sunkool. They all were within a couple hundred dollars of each other and are very good companies. I paid around $6600 and went with Kalos. Munns came in with the best price, but I like Kalos better, so we went with them. The reason I chose Kalos is Tyler was very helpful. He climbed up into my attic and looked around. He noticed there was no installation above the Lanai and included that in the price. I told Tyler what Munn's price was and he matched it. You can't go wrong with any of these companies they are all good I just had a better rapport with Kalos.

Mitsubishi ceiling unit from Kalos with insulation above. Their team was superb. Call Tyler. The higher prices quoted here are more accurate in todays market.
